Sports Makers
The Sport Makers programme will aim to recruit, train and deploy 40,000 new sports volunteers aged 16 years and over to organise and lead community sporting activities across the country.
Volunteers will have a positive and inspiring introduction to the world of sport volunteering via a series of workshops delivered locally. It is anticipated that many volunteers will continue to give their time, further increasing sport participation long after the 2012 Games are held in the UK.
Sport Makers will organise and support hundreds of thousands of new hours of grassroots sport, creating new opportunities across the country. While doing so, they will bring the Olympic and Paralympic values to life in every community.
