The Sportivate programme is part of the Play strand of Sport England’s recently announced London 2012 Mass Participation Legacy programme; ‘People, Places, Play’.
Sportivate will capture the excitement of sport and the London 2012 Games by providing opportunities for teenagers and young adults (aged 14-25) to receive coaching in a sport of their choice and guide them into regular participation within their community. Sportivate will be funded through £32 million of National Lottery (Revenue Stream) investment over the next 4 years; from April 2011 to March 2015.
The Sportivate programme in South Yorkshire will be led by South Yorkshire Sport and will be formally open for applications from Tuesday 8th March 2011. With this in mind, we are running Sportivate Stakeholder Events to help our partners understand more about the national programme and more importantly the local process for accessing the funding available for projects. The funding will be open to any organisation that can offer a viable sports project within the criteria which includes demonstrating evidence of need.
