Officiating is the perfect way to make new friends, build your confidence and participate in what is a great game. Throughout England there are many local and national league competitions, all of which need officials for the games to take place. No officials usually means no game!
To be an active official you need to be qualified and licensed to officiate in any game. You should also make sure you are officiating in leagues that are affiliated to ensure your insurance is valid.
Getting Qualified
There are four levels of officiating qualifications for referees and three levels for table officials. Courses to gain these awards are organised throughout the country on a regular basis. We are working closely with our regions to organise courses to develop our officials.
Organise An Officiating Course
Why not book your own officiating course for your club or area. All that you need to know to book you course can be found in the Course Information for Officiating Awards document.
Licensing
To become a licensed official you need to complete an application form. If you have already licensed as a coach or player, the fee required will be reduced as the EB membership fee will already have been paid.
